Specialized Training for Early Stages of Dementia Offered to Nurse Care Managers, Sponsored by CTC-RI and URI Geriatric Education Resource Center

Marguerite M. McLaughlin, Senior Director of Quality Improvement at the American Health Care Association and Senior Program Administrator at Healthcentric Advisors, offered a CEU approved training on Early Stage Dementia for nurse care managers and social workers at the December NCM Best Practice Sharing Committee. The training, sponsored by CTC-RI and the URI Geriatric Education Resource Center, focused on hallmark signs of early-stage dementia, common changes in cognitive state, common issues and general strategies for managing symptoms.
