Medicare Physician Fee Schedule - Telehealth Impacts
On November 1, 2024, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the final rule for the 2025 Physician Fee Schedule (PFS). The PFS provides new policy updates for the Medicare program for the following year. There typically has been some policy proposed each year impacting telehealth. While many of the temporary federal telehealth waivers in the Medicare program are set to end this year and would require action by Congress to alter their current expiration date, CMS has made whatever possible adjustments to further preserve some telehealth policies with this final rule. Please see full details in the FACT SHEET I November 2024: CY-2025-PFS-FINAL that has been provided by the Center for Connected Health Policy - the National Telehealth Policy Resource Center.
