Medicaid Pediatric Healthcare Recovery Program – Year 2

  • 17 Oct 2022

Because COVID continues to impact practices and patient care, the State Fiscal Year 2023 budget included additional funding for the Medicaid Pediatric Healthcare Recovery Program. Medicaid, in partnership with CTC-RI, is offering a 12-month incentive program to improve immunization and lead screening results and improve capacity to assist children and families with behavioral health needs. Payments are contingent on practices meeting immunization and lead screening targets or demonstrating prescribed improvement. In addition, practices will be paid to participate in a 6-series ECHO behavioral health learning initiative.

52 practices have successfully applied for the next round of the Medicaid Pediatric Healthcare Recovery Program. Practices participating in this year’s program will receive monthly practice facilitation support and KIDSNET immunization and lead screening information with determination of practice’s eligibility for payment based on achievement of targets or improvement targets. Practices’ baseline report should be emailed to practices by October 21. In addition, best-practice sharing meetings will be offered on the topics of: Best Practices in Lead Screening (November 15th), Understanding what Matters to Families Regarding Vaccines (TBD), and a session on the new KIDSNET School Readiness reports (TBD). Practices are expected to attend 4 out of 6 ECHO® Learning Sessions and are eligible for customized behavioral health technical assistance (optional). The topics and dates for the ECHO series are:
