Asthma Essentials ECHO October Kickoff
In an exciting kickoff, CTC-RI hosted its first Asthma Essentials ECHO which aims to bring together partners from multiple learning and care communities. CTC-RI was thrilled to welcome providers, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, nurse case managers, community health workers, and school nurses, to engage in the ECHO “all teach, all learn” model through didactic and case presentations. The end goal is to enhance collaboration and support while building skills, competencies and best practices in asthma care.
Our first session brought together 56 participants and was facilitated by Pat Flanagan, MD. The didactic session, presented by Mansi James, DO, Allergy/Asthma at Providence Community Health Centers (PCHC), focused on updated Asthma Clinical Guidelines and was followed by a case presentation from Cynthia Bliss, MD, Coastal Medical Waterman Pediatrics. Access materials and the recording from the Oct 12th meeting here.
Session 2 will occur on Nov 9 with the didactic portion presented by Lillian Nieves, PharmD, PCHC and will focus on sse of asthma medications / asthma action plans. Sarah Fessler, MD, East Bay Community Action Program will provide the case presentation.
