Clinical Strategy Committee: Updates on MassHealth Primary Care Sub-Capitation & NY SDOH Waiver

In July, the Clinical Strategy Committee convened to hear important updates on the MassHealth Primary Care Sub-Capitation Program and the New York Health Equity Reform (NYHER) 1115 Amendment. Participants heard insights from a panel of expert speakers: Martha Farlow, Senior Director of Policy, along with her colleagues, Sabrina Werts, MPH, Senior Manager of Primary Care Strategy, Maggie Aliber, MPH, Senior Manager, Integrated Fiscal Strategy and Carmela Socolovsky, MD, MPH, Medical Director and Pulmonary Critical Care Physician from MassHealth, provided a comprehensive overview of the lessons learned from one year of the Massachusetts primary care Medicaid capitation. They also discussed upcoming program adjustments with discussion following on the implications for RI’s multi-payer initiatives. Following the Massachusetts update, Selena Hajiani from the New York State Department of Health shared valuable information on New York’s waiver to build community partnerships aimed at addressing health-related social needs for Medicaid patients.
