CTC-RI Clinical Strategy Committee Continues Monthly Multi-Stakeholder COVID-19 Primary Care Forum
The Clinical Strategy Committee (CSC) met twice in June as a continuation of the special response to the COVID-19 crisis. The June 5 topics discussed were the May Policy Report at the request of OHIC, Medicaid, and the Governor's COVID-19 Task Force including: the pediatric vaccination improvement plan; considerations for "reopening practices"/ increasing in-person visits; and the current status of telemedicine. Steven Lampert MD, MBA, President, Lifespan Physician Group of the Lifespan also discussed the hospital plan to improve post-discharge surveillance of COVID-19 positive patients. On June 19, the CSC met again to hear about remote patient monitoring from Lauren Capizzo, MBA, from Healthcentric Advisors, and Sarah Thompson, Pharm D, MBA/MS, Coastal Medical. Somava Saha, MD MS, Executive Lead, Well-Being and Equity (WE) in the World and Well-Being in the Nation (WIN) Network participated in the discussion on "How to Strengthen Community-Clinical Linkages in a Systematic Manner." There was also a group discussion to address avoiding the return to high numbers of low-acuity ED visits. For the summer, the CSC will resume monthly meetings on the 3rd Fridays monthly.
