Opioid treatment expert connects with RI providers
On January 17, CTC hosted two trainings by Colleen Labelle, MSN, RN-BC, CARN, Director of Boston Medical Center's Office-Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) program. The first training was for nurse care managers involved with medication-assisted treatment for addiction disorders. Through funding from the RI Dept. of Behavioral Health Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH), CTC is supporting four nurse care managers at different health centers across the state implement a nurse-managed response to addiction treatment. The second training supported behavioral health providers and community health workers interested in learning more about substance use screening and treatment options for older adults. The training was jointly sponsored by the RI Geriatric Education Center at URI.
