RI MomsPRN Learning Collaborative on Alcohol Use in Perinatal Women
The RI Maternal Psychiatry Resource Network (RI MomsPRN) Program funded by the RI Department of Health, in partnership with CTC-RI, hosted our quarterly learning collaborative meeting this month which included a presentation by Mary Velasquez, PhD on alcohol use in perinatal women. Participating practices reported on their progress in implementing universal screening of their perinatal patient population. This event hosted 24 participants, which included healthcare providers and staff across the state. Click for links to PPT and session recording.
As a reminder, any providers and health care staff seeing pregnant and postpartum people are welcome to call the RI MomsPRN teleconsultation line at (401) 430-2800, M-F, 8am-4pm for real-time assistance. Behavioral health clinicians from Women & Infants Hospital, including specialized psychiatrists, psychologists, and resource and referral specialists, are available for clinical consultation regarding behavioral health diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication safety and can also provide resource and referral support to community-based treatment and support services.
