RI Foundation Awards $450,000 to CTC/PCMH Kids for Behavioral Health Fund Grant
On May 20, CTC and PCMH Kids were awarded $450,000 to test implementing a comprehensive Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) service delivery program to increase the identification and treatment of behavioral health conditions before people are in crisis. Eight pediatric practices, which are anticipated to serve approximately 30,000 children, will be selected to increase the identification, early intervention and treatment of behavioral health challenges of children by implementing developmentally appropriate and evidence-based screening tools and treatment models. At the event, Pano Yeracaris, MD, MPH, CTC Chief Clinical Strategist accepted the award and highlighted that PCMH Kids now represents 37 practices serving over 100,000 children and representing 80% of children covered by Medicaid and 50% of all children in RI. Nelly Burdette, Psy.D, CTC Senior IBH Program Leader has successfully trained practice facilitators to assist practices with integrating behavioral health in primary care.
