Breakfast of Champions Focuses on Enhancing Primary Care with Technology

This month, the Breakfast of Champions session brought together 56 attendees to explore cutting-edge technologies aimed at improving the efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of primary care. The event featured a diverse lineup of experts showcasing their work on AI, patient communication tools, prior authorization systems, and behavioral health apps. Dr. Paul Larson, Brown University Health Medical Director, kicked off the presentation with an insightful discussion on using AI for progress note documentation to streamline clinician workflows. This was followed by Stephanie Grenier, Rhode Island Primary Care Physicians Corporation Director of Quality & Performance, who presented on leveraging Health Helpers to reduce care gaps, particularly for underserved populations. The session continued with Krystal Bevilacqua, PharmD, CDCES, CDOE, CVDOE, Brown University Health Diabetes Program Manager, presenting on the role of DME with Parachute in diabetes management. Finally, Dr. Julian Herpertz, University of Jena Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, concluded the event by examining behavioral health applications and MindApp – a tool to support providers in assessing the viability of behavioral health applications. View the materials here.
