Clinical Strategy Committee Meetings

In August, the Clinical Strategy meeting focused on "Housing is Health" and was led by Domenic Delmonico, MBA, Executive Director at Tufts Health Plan. The meeting featured presentations from Anusha Venkataraman, MS, Managing Director of ONE Central Providence, Rebecca Plonsky Babigian, LICSW, CEO of Integrated Healthcare Partners, Beata Nelken, MD, President & CEO of Jenks Park Pediatrics and Central Falls Children's Foundation, Michelle Brophy, Associate Director of Vulnerable Populations at BHDDH and Rahul Vanjani, MD, Medical Director, Amos House, CEO, Docs for Health, Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine, Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Conversation centered on connections between housing and health, highlighting innovative approaches being taken to support vulnerable communities including a housing initiative from Jenks Park. There was also an overview of Integrated Healthcare Partners' emergency housing program and the health and housing toolkit from Rhode Island Housing. On September 20, the Clinical Strategy meeting will focus on Addressing Alcohol Use Disorder in Primary Care Patients and serve to kick off a Think Tank focused on addressing alcohol misuse. CTC-RI will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders including primary care providers, payers, substance use professionals, and peer experts to brainstorm actionable interventions in primary care. The meeting will include an environmental scan presentation followed by a panel discussion featuring Nelly Burdette, PsyD, Director, Population Behavioral Health, Boston Medical Center and CTC-RI Sr. Director Integrated Behavioral Health, Garry Bliss, Senior Director, Prospect Health Services RI, Barry Fabius, MD, Chief Medical Officer, UnitedHealthcare, Gloria Rose, RN, Director of Community Care Management, Thundermist Health Center, and John Tassoni, President, Substance Use and Mental Health Leadership Council of RI.
