UnitedHealthcare Gifts Two Grants to CTC-RI to Advance Comprehensive Primary Care Work

  • 12 Dec 2019

CTC-RI has been awarded two tremendous grants by UnitedHealthcare to help advance our comprehensive primary care efforts in Rhode Island. Thank you to UnitedHealthcare for their generous support:

A grant to fund primary care practice participation in the Integrated Pediatric Behavioral Health (IBH) initiative, specifically supporting universal IBH screening and treatment in pediatric primary care for children, adolescents and postpartum mothers.

A grant to provide primary care practice teams, working within systems of care, an opportunity to participate in a pharmacy quality improvement initiative to improve the safe, effective and efficient use of medications in older adults (ages 55 or older). The initiative is entitled "Empowering the Safe Effective and Efficient (S-E-E) Use of Medications in Older Adults". CTC-RI is working with University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy to submit a custom report application to the All-Payer Claims Data Base with the intent that URI will receive the expanded pharmacy claims file by the end of 2019. CTC-RI will host a Pharmacy Planning Committee meeting on November 14 to develop the framework for the pharmacy learning collaborative.
