December Sleep ECHO Session with Practice Report Outs
Our Sleep ECHO session was held on December 19, with a presentation on Sleep in Middle Schoolers from Dr. Julie Boergers, PhD, and with additional time for practices to report on their quality improvement projects (Plan-Do-Study-Act). Each practice presented their plans for assessment, the results, impressions, data, and plans for the next cycle. Blackstone Pediatrics focused on improving sleep in 6–9-year-olds using BISQ-S assessment. Partners in Pediatrics focused on improving sleep for young children between ages 2-5 with an emphasis on snoring and sleep apnea. Atlantic Pediatrics focused on improving response to sleep concerns for children aged 6-12 and presented a streamlined process for referral and connecting patients to the care they need. Finally, Anchor Pediatrics focused on improving sleep in teens, using self-reported BEARS assessments for teenagers between 13-18 years old. We thank all of our practices for presenting their successes and challenges during the course of this project and Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI for project funding.
Our next Sleep ECHO session will be held on January 23rd, focusing on High School-aged Children ages 14-18 and will feature Dr. Richard P. Millman, MD as subject expert to answer questions about sleep medication.
