MLPB Phase II Action Lab: Best Practices for Strength-Based Screening, Triage and Response
MLPB hosted the second of its Phase II Health-Related Social Needs Learning and Action Lab series this month. The session entitled, “Moving from Theory to Practice on Anti-Racism in Healthcare” was co-facilitated by Dr. Baraka Floyd, and Swen Ervin. Dr. Floyd is a pediatrician, Clinical Associate Professor and Associate Chair of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Justice at the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford School of Medicine. Swen Ervin is Interim Senior Executive Director of Human Resources for the San Francisco Unified School District. The participants learned how to define racism, understand anti-racism, and apply anti-racist principles to the Learning and Action Lab’s key priority areas of housing, loneliness and social isolation. On November 9, the Learning & Action Lab will focus on key elements of strengths-based screening with guest facilitator, Ariel Singer, MPH, a healthcare consultant based in Portland, OR.
