Getting Ready to Meet the Customer Experience CAHPS Survey Requirements

  • 26 Sep 2017

CTC-RI has selected Data Stat as its qualified vendor for conducting the customer experience survey (CAHPS). CTC-RI, with financial support from the health plans, covers the costs associated with administering the CAHPS survey for practices currently participating in the CTC-RI program. All participating CTC-RI practices are required to meet the CAHPS survey project milestones within the outlined timeframes. CTC-RI will additionally be using the Data Stat portal for practices to register for access to the On point Performance Portal. Access to the Onpoint Performance Portal will provide your practice with on-going information on how you are performing on utilization (ED and IP), cost of care, use of specialists and pharmacy costs compared with comparison group of non PCMH practices.

DataStat has prepared a “Starter Kit” which includes important timelines to assist practices with meeting the CAHPS survey expectations. As the certified data vendor for this project, DataStat will administer the survey and collect data from the patients seen at the practice site using approved NCQA protocols. Conducting the patient experience survey using a standardized survey tool will enable the practice to obtain credit for the NCQA quality improvement competency.  CTC and Data Stat will not be submitting data to NCQA for the NCQA “distinction” option as there is added costs associated with submitting data to NCQA for distinction and practices do not need “distinction” for NCQA quality improvement credit.
