CTC-RI/PCMH Kids Telemedicine Initiative

  • 03 Aug 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to increased levels of telemedicine use never before seen in primary care, with practices and patients seeking care through a combination of remote and in-person services.  In response, with funding from UnitedHealthcare, CTC-RI has formed a core planning team and a telemedicine subcommittee to provide oversight for the development of:

  1. A telemedicine practice needs assessment and patient engagement survey to help inform topics for a 6-month ECHO webinar series; and
  2. Planning and implementing of a 12-month Telemedicine Pilot Learning Collaborative in which practices will be selected to use telemedicine to help patients with management of their chronic conditions.

Working with systems of care and the RI Department of Health, we anticipate fielding the practice needs assessment /patient engagement surveys in early September, hosting a 6-month webinar services starting in October, and issuing a "Call for Applications" for the Telemedicine opportunity in November-December 2020.
