Launch of ECHO® Program “Screened for Developmental Delay: Now What?“

  • 15 Jan 2025
In January, 57 people attended our kickoff session for the ECHO® series “Screened for Developmental Delay, Now What?" with Jennifer Sanchez, M.Ed., IMH-E® presenting on the topic "Learn the Signs, Act Early". This session highlighted the importance of early identification of developmental delays and the role of healthcare providers and educators in guiding families toward timely intervention. Dr. Sanchez discussed tools to help caregivers recognize milestones and take action when concerns arise, stressing that early intervention can significantly improve long-term outcomes for children.

Sue Rivera, a parent who has used the Learn the Signs, Act Early application, discussed how important it is for parents to gain access to this information and be able to speak with providers/educators about how their children are doing. She discussed how her family used this information to help her work with her children to develop skills and to become a better advocate for her children. The session fostered discussions on best practices in supporting families and emphasized the importance of collaboration and tools to support families. Our next session will be on February 12, focusing on “Team-based approach to an inclusive office environment for people with neurodiversity” presented by Ariana DeAngelis from The Autism Project. Interested in joining this ECHO? Email Michelle Mooney: mmooney@ctc-ri.org.
